Week 5: October 8th - October 11th This time of year feels magical on the farm. The leaves around us are changing, the evenings are cooling off, and we’re right in the thick of our fall harvests. It’s the beginning of the end of outdoor farming season for us - everything that gets planted from here on out will be under a tunnel of some kind, protected from the harshest elements. Week 4: October 1st - October 4th Recently, we have been feeling very tropical here on the farm. Not because of the weather (although it has been wetter of late) but because of what we’ve been bringing in from the fields and tunnels. Week 3: September 24th - September 27th Yesterday, we had the pleasure of hosting a field day for a Vegetable Production class from the University of Wisconsin River Falls. Twenty students, mostly plant science majors, came to tour the farm, see how we grow our crops, and learn more about diversified vegetable farming. It’s always fun to show the farm to students like these - passionate young people who have found their way to farming, or at the very least farm-adjacent learn
